FAQ
When does Castlevania: Belmont's Curse come out?
October 14, 2026 on PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and Steam. Konami's regional pages display 15-Oct-26 for the same launch. Details are on the release date page.
How much does it cost?
$29.99 for the Standard Edition and $39.99 for the Midnight Edition on Steam, with Standard at $29.99 on the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store and Nintendo eShop as well. The regional breakdown is on the price page.
What is the difference between Standard and Midnight?
Midnight adds a Digital Sound & Art Gallery, two costumes and one relic, and it is the only version sold physically. The pre-order bonus is the same in both. The editions page compares them row by row.
Which platforms is it on?
PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and Steam. There is no PS4, Xbox One, macOS or Linux version, and no Switch 2 version has been announced. See the platforms page.
Is there a demo?
Yes, and it is free. It went live on September 30, 2026 on all four platforms and covers the opening chapter. The demo page covers what is in it and how big it is.
Does demo progress carry over to the full game?
Yes, under five conditions, and two of them matter: the save has to still exist, and you must play the full game on the same platform with the same account. They are listed in full on the demo page.
Is it a remake of Castlevania III?
No. It is set twenty-three years after Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse, in 1499, and it tells a new story with a new protagonist. The story page explains where it sits.
Who is the main character?
Rose Belmont, Trevor Belmont's daughter, who carries Dracula's curse in her right arm. She is not Sonia Belmont, which is a separate question with its own history, answered on the characters page.
How many bosses are there?
Konami names six: The Fallen, Joan of Arc, Medusa, Isaac, Carmilla and Death. The boss list has each one with its official description.
Is it a metroidvania or a roguelike?
Konami's official genre is 2D Action-Exploration. It is not a roguelike, and there is no run structure or permadeath loop. The gameplay page covers what the systems actually are.
What are the PC requirements?
Windows 11, an Intel Core i5-8400 and a GTX 1650 at minimum, with 16 GB of RAM and 10 GB of storage on both tiers. The PC requirements page has the full table.
Is there co-op or multiplayer?
No. Steam lists the game as Single-player only, and no multiplayer mode has been announced.
Will it run on my Switch?
There is no Switch 2 version, but the Nintendo Switch version is confirmed and runs at 30 fps rather than 60. The platforms page covers the frame rate question.
What language can I play it in?
Eleven text languages and two audio languages, Japanese and English. The platforms page lists them all.
Is there a soundtrack release?
Not separately. Konami has published all 71 track names, and the music is delivered through the Digital Sound & Art Gallery included with the Midnight Edition. See the soundtrack page.
Does the game have Denuvo?
Not announced. Steam's store listing carries no DRM notice, which is not the same as a statement that there is no DRM. Konami has not commented.
What has Konami not announced?
An unlock time, the seven weapon categories, the full Arcana list, a composer, the boss order, and any DLC plan. Each of those is flagged as pending on the page it belongs to rather than filled with a guess.
